I've played piano since I was six although eventually my music teacher kicked me out for playing movie themes by ear instead of concentrating on music theory.  Since then I've composed music -- and learned some music theory -- which I render using a software player (my DAW of choice is FL Studio). 

 [Get this - you buy the software once, and you get lifetime updates for free.  Best investment ever.]  The sound is fairly realistic (and is becoming more so as I buy more instrument libraries - or download them free, thank you, Image-Line).    This system lets me score ads or corporate videos, which are usually fairly simple and don't require an entire orchestra - usually just a guitar , a synth or two, and some drum work (although the full Star Wars style is available when necessary ☺)  I've done a couple of scores for friends studying film-making when they competed in a film competition.  It was hilarious, Best Time Ever, well, not actually, but for stories I can tell in public, it will have to do.  It came close.  The director and I invented a fictitious East European country and -- using just our voices, heavily effected and compressed and reverbed, etc -- invented a musical style for the country.   That piece of music plays over the radio in the room as the sinister foreign dentist approaches his patient...

There's an example of a soundtrack video below.  I'm a bit stuck for content, but Pexel provide copyright-free videos, so I used one of theirs, and, yeah, I'm a sucker for helicopters and my best friend was a very good paramedic who actually worked on a chopper for a couple of years. Warning : This is not Apocalypse Now, but I wasn't unhappy with the result.  I'm going to add a few more once I find some decent vids, to demonstrate the full range of my style.

I also write.  You'll find a fairly irreverent ongoing story on this blog - well, once I recover it from an email since I accidentally deleted it.  I can also write non-fiction and drama and screenplays as well.  I have written enormous amounts of technical information related to software development.  I've written and directed a few plays (for a short while I was a Computer Studies teacher at a local high school, took the opportunity to put on a play, also at my original high school).  

Another service I offer is researching things for other writers.  I enjoy doing it for myself -- did you know the UH-60M variant of the Black Hawk helicopter can fly itself without any pilots aboard? I did mention I like helicopters, but any subject that's going to be in a story, or an advert, or a YouTube video, is probably interesting enough for me to do the research and provide just the facts, ma'am to my client. Oh, yeah. "Content Creators".  When did the word writer go out of style? People who maintain blogs. or write articles or whatever -- you see, writer is just so much more efficient -- and I don't charge too much, because I love knowing more than other people.  (I'm so mature.)

 I also develop desktop or backend software in C#, which is a language I love.  I can do it quickly, or I can do it well - it's your choice.  I particularly enjoy doing graphics, but I can do everything from database scripts and procedures to webjobs.
